Stuart Community Concert Band - An Old Fashioned Sousa Concert

Featuring music written by or arranged by the “march king” himself. Surprisingly, John Philip Sousa was a musician and composer who is known mostly for marches, but composed many other pieces of various styles. We will perform such pieces as  Handel in the Strand, With Pleasure, Processional, as well as some of his best known marches (The Stars and Stripes Forever, The Thunderer, King Cotton, and Semper Fidelis). You are sure to have a renewed appreciation for the quality and versatility of this composer/musician who died 86 years ago.
