About The Kane Center

At the Forefront of "Aging Well"

The Charles and Rae Kane Center is the home of the Council on Aging of Martin County. The Kane Center is specially designed for seniors of all capabilities and walks of life – as well as their families and caregivers – to come together in a secure, comfortable atmosphere where they truly feel at home.

Named for a local couple who have championed senior issues for decades, the $15 million facility was developed through a public/philanthropic partnership, including $5.8 million from public funds, the Florida Legislature and a grant from the Florida Department of Elder Affairs.

The Kane Center is a nine-acre wooded campus located on Salerno Road just east of Kanner Highway. It is less than one mile from Martin Memorial South Hospital, the Robert Morgade branch of the Martin County Library System and the Chastain Campus of IRSC.

Green Building Technology

The Kane Center is certified in the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System by the U.S. Green Building Council and is also the first "green” senior center in Florida that will serves as an emergency shelter.
